One of the most noticeable copepods in any haul, Candacea is relatively large, very shrubby, has a bulbous body and will readily set up wonderful circulating feeding currents. A Gymnoplean copepod, the females carry a single cluster of eggs, unlike the Podoplean species which carry paired clusters.
