Spiny lobsters and slipper lobsters like Moreton Bay 'Bugs' spend up to one and a half year as flattened transparent larvae that 'latch onto' Hydromedusae and Semeaostome jellyfish (less frequently on comb jellies), which they ride before settling out as glassy lobsters.
