We get a large number of requests from individuals, institutions and organisations asking whether they can use an image for free. In some cases it is possible for us to help but please bare in mind that we make our money, and so stay in existence, by selling a license to use an image for a particular use. If we grant use of an image, then it means we cannot grant exclusive use in the future.

School Project  

We do allow images to be used in school projects by students under the following conditions:
1. The image is not published.
2. The image is credited properly - see details here.
3. You must fill out this form with the image numbers, your school name and address.
     
Lectures or Teaching   We are very happy for images to be used for teaching and, in some cases, are prepared to allow use for no charge. Either way you will need to contact us. We can arrange for slide sets, posters or prints, or digital files to be used in computer or slide presentations. We can also offer alternatives or sets of images on particular subjects
     
Charity   We regret that we can not offer free images to charities except in exceptional circumstances. However, we are prepared to offer discounts in some cases.
